The middleweight World Boxing Association Champion, Gennady Golovkin, is ready for his first fight 2014. The champion will fight with Osumanu Adama in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
In 2013, Golovkin fought four times. His first fight was in January with Gabriel Rosado whom he defeated by TKO 9, then he anihilated Nobuiro Ishida in three rounds in Monaco, and in June, he defeated Matthew Macklin whom he retired in three rounds. His last fight in 2013 was against Curtis Stevens defeating him by TKO in 8 rounds at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
Now Golovkin, undefeated in 28 fight with 25 KO’s, will make his tenth 160 lbs title defense on Saturday February 1, with the African Adama with a record of 22-3 16 KO’s.
Glovkin defended his title for the first time before Nilson Julio Tapia on November 16, 2010. Before that, on August 14, 2010 he had won the interim title from Milton Núñez and was later appointed regular champion.
The officials for the Golovkin vs Adama fight will be Luis Pabón, acting as the third man on the ring, and Stanley Christodoulou, Philippe Verbeke and Leszek Jankowiak will be scoring the actions. Mike McAleenan will supervise.
