Costa Rica is ready to host the WBA “KO to Drugs” Festival on Saturday night at the National Gym in San Jose, Costa Rica. This will be the biggest fight card ever in Costa Rica and will feature Costa Rican fighter in both a world title fight and a regional title fight. Organizers hope the night of boxing will be a success and they will meet their revenue goal from the sale of tickets which will go to a charity. The fighters at these KO Drugs events are paid by their managers.
Costa Rica fighters Jaime Barboza and Bryan “Tiquito” Vasquez will carry the hopes of the tiny Central American nation that is hoping to make a good impression to the boxing world.
In the main event, Barboza fights for the vacant WBA interim super middleweight world title against Irishman Brian Magee.
Vasquez takes on Mexican Allan for the Fedelatin super featherweight belt.
Legendary promoter Don King is expected.
