Directors and other members of the World Boxing Association, headed by the boxing organization President Gilberto Mendoza, featherweight champion Nicholas Walters, and the former World champion Hilario Zapata, attended Hogares Crea located on the outskirts of Barranquilla, to comply with one of the most important points of the Agenda of the WBA KO Drugs Festival.

Members of the International Boxing community, accompanied by local and international journalists spent some time with 25 inmates of “La Finca” home, whom former world champion Hilario Zapata told his story of hard experiences during his stage of drug abuse addiction, failed attempts to re-educate and scape from this activity and how he finally managed to overcome that great enemy of society, almost 15 years ago.

Dr. Mendoza, his companions and representatives of local and international media, also heard the stories of those who have taken the wise decision to retrain and escape from this social scourge.

The WBA KO drugs activities continue this Friday with the International Boxing card headed by the title fight between interim lightweight champion, Darleys Pérez, from Colombia and his challenger Jaider Parra from Venezuela, at the Coliseum of the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla.
