On Saturday, December 5, at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton, New Zealand, Jeff Horn (12-0-1, 8 KOs), from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, fights Ahmed El Mousaoui (22-1, 5 KOs), from Aulnay-sous-Bois, Seine-Saint-Denis, France, for the PABA/WBA Asia Pacific welterweight title.
Ranked #11 by the WBA, Horn just came off an impressive win over Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco and will face his toughest test to date in El Mousaoui. The former Australian Olympian currently also holds WBO and IBF regional belts.
El Mousaoui is vacating his EBU title in order to fight for the other titles at stake. He only has a single loss, a controversial majority decision back in 2011, and he has risen through the rankings as the premier welterweight fighting in France today.
The bout will take place as the undercard of undefeated #12 ranked heavyweight Joseph Parker’s PABA/ WBA Oceania title defense against American prospect Daniel Martz.
The top welterweights of their respective countries will showcase their talents on FOX SPORTS Asia and Bein Sport.
