Aunque ya está en la historia como la mujer que logró el primer título del mundo para Perú, Kina Malpartida quiere más. Todos los días trabaja fuerte para ser recordada como una de las mejores exponentes del boxeo.

Valor, Coraje, determinación y mucha humildad son sinónimos de Kina, la campeona femenina súper pluma de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo. Una dama dentro y fuera del ring que tiene definido su norte, la excelencia. Simplemente ser la mejor.

Desde muy joven Kina fue una atleta. Practicó karate y surf. Resultó interesante conocer sobre su vida mientras conversé con ella en la pasada cena de premiación de la AMB.

Finalizado el evento, cuando quedabamos pocos en el salón, y el equipo técnico desmontaba el escenario y las luces, Kina apareció. Había cambiado su traje de gala por una vestimenta más cómoda y se notaba más relajada. Es una mujer muy tratable y de fácil acceso para conversar.

Habló de lo mucho que le gustó Panamá. De cómo trotó desde el hotel hasta llegar al casco antiguo de la ciudad. De la amabilidad de las personas y su impresión al ver que Panamá es un país muy boxístico. Sin notarlo, Kina era la atracción de los presentes, incluyendo a Leo Gámez (4 veces campeón mundial).

“Entré al boxeo estando muy lejos de Perú. Yo estaba en Australia cuando decidí practicar boxeo y así fue que comencé”, comentó Kina.

“Estoy muy contenta porque a pesar de no tener una carrera como aficionada, hoy día soy campeona del mundo. Pero, reconozco que no soy nadie, no he logrado nada, aún me falta mucho y trabajo muy fuerte todos los días para llegar a ser alguien”. Exclamó la campeona.

Kina demostró ser una persona muy humilde, muy agradecida con la vida. Una persona que confesó haber pasado por muchos problemas durante su juventud y traspasó todas sus emociones a los guantes y el sudor de un gimnasio, ya es alguien grande.

Cuando Kina habla, se percibe a una persona muy emotiva. Sus palabras, sus gestos demuestran que es sincera con lo que dice. Lo que más me impactó fue su humildad. Kina es una profesional, estudió y está graduada de la universidad, pero encontró en el boxeo el medio para llenar su vida y demostrar que realmente será alguien importante.

“En Perú el boxeo es casi nulo. No hay gimnasios, no hay actividad. Pero a mi no me importó. Esto es lo que yo quiero hacer y voy a demostrar que haciéndolo bien puedo dejar un legado. Reconozco que no soy la mejor del mundo, no estoy ni cerca de serlo, pero, algún día llegará mi verdadero momento, estoy segura de eso. Y cuando eso ocurra yo estaré lista”, afirmó Kina.

“Ya comencé a ayudar a otros boxeadores. Ahora quiero organizar eventos de boxeo en Perú sin descuidar mi carrera, porque sigo entrenando duro para cumplir mi sueño de ser la mejor del mundo”.

Kina Malpartida ganó el título mundial pluma de la AMB el 21 de febrero de 2009 cuando, en contra de todos los pronósticos, noqueó a la gran favorita Maureen Shea en 10 asaltos en un combate que se celebró en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York.

Actualmente ha realizado 4 defenas exitosas de su corona, 3 de ellas han sido en su natal Perú.

Kina Malpartida es la voluntad de una mujer humilde.

Although Kina Malpartida already entered the history as the first Peruvian woman who wins a World title, she wants more. She works hard to be remembered as the one of the best boxers in the world.

Kina, the World Boxing Association Featherweight world champion, is the synonym of courage, determination, and humility.  She is a woman in and out of the ring, and has a well-defined objective: excellence!

She is an athlete since she was very young, practiced karate and Surf.  It was very interesting getting to know about her life during the WBA Annual Awards Dinner.

Kina came back after the event finished and very few people were still in the room, the crew was dismounting the stage and lights. She had changed here gala dress for very comfortable clothing. She seemed very relaxed. She is a very nice person and easy to talk to.

He talked about how much he liked Panama. That she jogged from the hotel to the old city, the kindness of the people and that Panama is a boxing country. Without realizing, Kina was the attraction of those present, including Leo Gamez (4 times world champion).

“I was very far from Peru when I began boxing; I was in Australia when I decided to box”. Said Kina.

“I am very happy because, even though I don´t have an amateur career, I am the champion of the world. Though I am aware that I am nobody, I still have many things to learn, many things to do, and I have to work hard every day to be someone,” she said.

Kina proved to be a very humble, very thankful for life. She confessed she had many problems during her youth; however, she turned all her emotions to the gloves and the sweat in a gym, now she is big.

When Kina speaks, you notice a very emotional person. Her words, her actions show that she means what in what he says. However, what struck me the most was her humility. Kina has a college degree, but found in boxing the means to fill her life and to demonstrate that she will be important.

“In Peru, boxing is almost nothing. There are no gyms, no activity, but I don´t care. This is what I do and I will prove that doing it right I will leave a legacy. I admit I am not the best of the world, yet, and I’m not close to it, but I know my time will come, I’m sure. And when that happens, I’ll be ready“, said Kina.

“I already began helping other boxers. Now I want to organize boxing shows in Peru, without neglecting my own career, I keep on training very hard to fulfill my dream to be the best of the world”.

Kina Malpartida won the WBA world title on February 21, 2009 when -against all odds- she knocked out the favorite Maureen Shea in a 10-round-fight at the Madison Square Garden, New York.

She now has made four successful title defenses, 3 of them in her natal Peru.
