Veteran Martin Murray held a big demonstration in Liverpool against Gabe Rosado, whom he defeted by majority decision to become the World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental Middleweight Champion last Saturday.
The Echo Arena, in Merseyside, Murray’s hometown, witnessed a great fight, with the three judge’s cards in his favor, 114-114, 116-112 and 119-109.
As expected, the match was held with very close rounds and several exchanges that made the fans lift from their seats. Murray managed to dominate his opponent in almost all aspects, and thus he won the title, which was vacant.
The British now has a record 35 wins, 4 defeats, a draw and 16 victories by knockout. On the other hand, the American boxer of Puerto Rican descent’s record is 23 wins, 11 falls and 13 defined before the limit.
