Argentine Ana Laura Esteche retained her World Boxing Association Super Lightweight title on Saturday night in Buenos Aires, where she defeated her compatriot Adela Celeste del Carmen Peralta.
The current WBA champion was superior in the ring. However, she ran into a Peralta ready to complicate the fight, and thus happened. In the end, the judges gave the victory to Esteche by split decision with a double 97-93, while one judge saw her rival win 96-94.
This is the fourth time the Argentine boxer retains her WBA world title at 140 pounds, with a record of 13 wins, 4 defeats, 3 draws and 2 knockouts.
