World Boxing Association (WBA) Minimumweight World Title challenger, Colombian Robert Barrera, arrived in Japan for Sunday’s fight against the monarch of the body, Japan’s Ryoichi Taguchi.

Barrera will have to adapt to the weather and time of Japan, which will be a handicap to fight a tested champion like the Japanese, but the South American was very focused and confident to do a good job after stepping on the Land of the Rising Sun.

“I imagine myself raising the belt in my hands to dedicate it to all my people, my children, my mother and my wife,” said Barrera in an interview with Boxeo de Colombia website, in which he showed he was very motivated to win the WBA belt.

“The most important thing is that we will make weight and after that, we have the fight. I know I can knock out Taguchi, I’m sure I can do it, God willing, I know I can do it”, continued the boxer from San Jose de Canalete, who said he will have no problem making the weight for the 108-pound division.

The bout will take place at the Ota-City General Gym in Tokyo. Champion Taguchi, who will defend his crown for the sixth time, has a record of 25 wins, 2 defeats and 2 draws with 11 knockouts. Barrera has a balance of 18 wins, 1 defeat and 12 fights won before the limit.
