Japanese Ryoichi Taguchi against Colombian Robert Barrera pre-fight activities will continue during the week. Both, the WBA Light Flyweight champion and his South American opponent passed the medical examination the same day of the press conference in Tokyo.
Both boxers passed the physical examination getting the medical ok to step into the ring to fight for the black and gold belt on Sunday. Besides, Taguchi and Barrera were face to face before the media and talked to them.
The challenger showed a tremendous self-confidence and a few days ago he assured he could knock out the champion and dared say it could be between rounds four and six. On his part, the calmed Nippon talked about his serenity before this new defense and, together with his team, dismissed the Colombian declarations.
Once these activities have been completed, they will step on the scales on Saturday and should weigh 108 pounds the division demands and Sunday will be the fight in the General Gymnasium Ota-City, in the capital of Japan.
Taguchi’s record is 25-2-2, 11 ko while Becerra’s 18-1, 12 ko.
