Dominican Carlos Adames took another important step in his career and defended his welterweight Fedelatin title against Carlos Molina, defeating him by a wide unanimous decision on Thursday night at the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The fight against the veteran Mexican was a fire-test for the local, but his stamina and strength enabled him to get over it. The judges’ score cards favored Adames 110-98, 110-98 and 109-99 thanks to the dominance he demonstrated throughout the fight.

Adames studied his opponent in the first round, but in the second he began to prove his power by sending Molina to the canvas. His opponent stood face to face, but it was not enough, because Adames took the best part in the exchanges and put the Mexican in bad conditions in several occasions during the fight scheduled for 11 rounds.

With this victory, the Dominican improved his record to 12, 0, 10 Kos while Molina’s record dropped to 28-7-2, 8Ko’s.
