Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), held two important meetings last Thursday in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia, regarding the preparations prior to the WBA 96th Convention, to be held in that city from October 30th to November 2nd.

The first meeting was with Sergio Escobar, Director of the Cooperation and Investment Agency of Medellín and the Metropolitan Area, who showed his satisfaction about the social plans that the WBA intends to undertake for this Convention and hopes they can be extended.

In addition, Mendoza was also received by Hernán Elejalde, Director of Indeportes Antioquia, who welcomed the WBA to hold the 96th Convention in Medellín, because he considers it to be of benefit to the city.

The WBA continues to make important approaches with the intention of providing a great Convention to the city of Medellín and show that boxing is a vehicle for social improvement
