The Puerto Rican Jesus Rojas became the new World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim Featherweight Champion after beating Carlos Marrero on Friday.
Both boxers exchanged blows in the short distance throughout the fight. Nevertheless, the blows of Rojas were more precise and they began to diminish the condition of the Dominican. However, the knockout came in the seventh round, a short hook to the face that knocked Marrero down and made him wait for the count of 10 by referee Russell Mora.
Thus, Rojas leaves his record at 26 wins, one loss, two draws and 19 knockouts, while Marrero leaves his balance at 22 wins, 2 losses and 16 knockouts.
