Mexico’s Irma Sánchez won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Interim Flyweight title after beating Brenda Ramos by split decision in a fight that took place at the Guadalajara multiple use gym this Saturday night.
Sánchez and Ramos showed their desire to become champions of the body from the first moment, they fought with much enthusiasm and gave the best of themselves. There was high competitiveness. In the end, the judges voted 97-94, 96-94 and 94-96 in favor of Sanchez after 10 very busy rounds for both.
The new WBA Champion improved her record to 30 wins, 7 losses, 1 draw and 8 knockouts, while Ramos now has a record of 10 wins, 6 losses and 4 knockouts.
