World Boxing Association (WBA) Super World Cruiserweight Champion Murat Gassiev (26-0, 19KO’s) and challenger Okelsandr Usyk (14-0, 11KO’s) held a final workout for the media in anticipation of their upcoming bout on Saturday, July 21st at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow. The bout is the final in the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS).
The “workout” itself was not very spirited – with Gassiev taking to the ring to do some stretching, jump rope for a few minutes, and then lightly shadowbox for a few minutes. He would stay in the ring for a bit longer to take some pictures as well.
Usyk, on the other hand, did not even make it into the ring for the “workout”. He instead stayed outside the ring to field questions from the media and fans.
The fight is highly anticipated, with it being one of the best matchups of the year with the best fighting the best in the division. It is a fight where many fans and media are having a hard time making a prediction because it is such an even matchup. Can’t wait for Saturday.
