With less than two weeks to put on the gloves at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, welterweights Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner showed off to the media with training in Los Angeles, in preparation for of the day of truth on January 19th.

“Pac-Man” will return to fight on American soil two years after his last appearance when he surpassed the Mexican-American Jessie Vargas in the Thomas and Mack Center of the famous “City of Sin”.

Broner will have the opportunity to write his name in golden letters to surpass the legend Manny Pacquiao and the chance to erase the adverse results he obtained against Marcos “El Chino” Maidana, Shawn Porter, and Mikey Garcia.

Originally the training of both fighters was expected in the same venue but in the end Pacquiao trained in the Wild Card Gym and Broner in the Tengoose Boxing Gym.

Both fighters focused more on attending the press than on routine training, with the exception of the Filipino native doing some work with the mitts for a few minutes.

The first to give his statement was the World Boxing Association (WBA) Champion, with Manny saying: “At this moment there is no room in my mind to think about Floyd Mayweather, I am totally focused on my fight against Broner”.

On the return of Freddie Roach to his corner he expressed the following: “We have made a great camp, I am happy for the work done and the union of the team.”

Upon his return to the United States, Pacquiao said: “I am grateful for the support of the people, they inspire me and I will continue here until my body allows it. I’m 40 years old, but I can still be at the top.”

The second to talk to the press was “The Problem” Broner, who did not do any physical work, but fielded all of the medias questions.

“This fight with Pacquiao is going to be dedicated to my people, to the neighborhood and to all those who do believe in me. He is a legend but I have youth, boxing, and the punch to win” expressed the pride of Ohio.

“It’s the most important fight of my life, I’m focused and in unbeatable conditions, I can tell the Filipino fans that after that night they’ll be my followers,” added the challenger.

“Pacquiao’s blow is good, but I have speed and good resistance, it will be a great thing to see, I invite everyone not to miss it,” concluded Broner.

This commitment promises to be the first mega combat of 2019, as it will be the first defense of the welterweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) that Pacquiao snatched last July from Argentinian Lucas Matthysse.
