The Costa Rican Hanna Gabriels proved once again to be one of the best fighters today, on this occasion she successfully defended her WBA 154-pound world title against the Australian warrior Sarah Dwyer, in a combat held in Managua, Nicaragua .

After the ten rounds, the judges scored as follows: 100-90; 97-93; 100-90; all in favor of the Central American.

The so-called “Black Amazon” showed an admirable technical and physical state, dominated the fight based on experience and perseverance. She connected the best combinations and took the baton in the attack.

Despite the dominance of the champion, the Australian Dwyer was a worthy rival and exceeded expectations in her first title match.

The challenger made Hanna work to her fullest, who at times sought to connect a hand to finish the actions, but her rival endured everything and also attacked sporadically.

After the clash both fighters gave each other a big hug and thanked the Nicaraguan people for supporting the boxing, as well as recognizing and respecting the work of the women in the sport.

On her near future, Hanna Gabriels said she would be interested in a rematch against the American Claressa Shields or a mega-clash against boxing queen Cecilia Braekhus of Norway.

The WBA will hold four purse bids on February 6th
