Bangkok promises to become a battleground for the confrontation between the minimumweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Thai native Thammanoon Niyomtrong and his Filipino challenger Ar Ar Andales.
Both fighters will face off this Friday in a fight that promises action and that puts together two rivals with exciting styles that predict a good confrontation.
Niyomtrong is one of the strongest 105-pound fighters and has defended his crown 10 times since becoming WBA champion in 2014. Fighters from several continents have measured themselves against the Thailand native nicknamed “Knockout CP Freshmart” in failed attempts to take his crown. He is 28 years old and remains firm with his title as a champion.
This time he will meet the WBA Asian champion, Ar Ar Andales, who at 19 years of age arrives very motivated to make a definitive leap to greatness by obtaining world title. The native of the Philippines is also undefeated and defended his Asian belt once before earning the right to face Niyomtrong.
Both rose to the scales this Thursday and fulfilled the weight. In the case of the champion, he came in at 105 pounds while Andales also made 105 and now they only have to go up to the ring to fight for the crown.
Niyomtrong has a record of 19 wins, no setbacks and 7 knockouts, while Andales has an undefeated balance in 10 bouts, with 2 knockouts.
