Jeison Rosario surprised the world when he knocked out Julian Williams in January. The Dominican boxer became World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Welterweight Super Champion and will now make the first defense of his title in a tough challenge against Jermell Charlo on September 26 in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Rosario and Charlo had a virtual press conference organized by the promotions company Premier Boxing Champions and talked about their fight, which will have a total of three world belts at stake, and they predicted it as a war.
“I am hungrier than when I won the title. I am more motivated. The desire inside, the fire burns inside me to win this fight”, the Dominican Champion assured the press.
Charlo, for his part, spoke of the time he needed to be ready for the fight and how surprised he is with the results. He emphasized that he is in the best shape he has ever been and ready to take all the championships.
“It’s no secret what I’m going to do. I’m dangerous”, complemented the American boxer.
Rosario and Charlo will have an interesting fight at 154 pounds. There are less than four weeks left and both are eager to enter the ring.
The Caribbean boxer has a record of 20 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 14 KOs, while Charlo has a balance of 33 wins, 1 loss and 17 KOs.
