Atchariya Wirojanasunobol won the World Boxing Association (WBA) South Asia Welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Krai Setthaphon on Saturday at the Suamlum Night Bazaar in Bangkok, Thailand.
Wirojanasunobol is an example of struggle and endurance. A legal problem took him out of boxing since 2018 and his career had been cut short; however, he fought, came back and is now the new WBA South Asia Champion thanks to his most recent victory.
The 31-year-old fighter continues to pursue his goal of a world championship opportunity in either of the two categories in which he has fought, either Super Lightweight or Welterweight.
With this victory, his undefeated record extends to 13 wins, 5 of them by KO. In the case of Sertthaphon, his balance is now 29 wins, 7 losses and 19 KOs.
