Naoya Inoue will defend his WBA Bantamweight Super Championship for the first time this Saturday at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas against Jason Moloney. The fight marks the return to the ring of one of the best pound-for-pound fighters today and will be against a tough competitor with great ambitions.

“The Monster” will put his black and gold belt and his IBF belt on the line. The Japanese boxer has not fought since the final of the World Boxing Super Series last November when he defeated Nonito Donaire and snatched the WBA belt from him.

Eleven months without a fight make the Japanese boxer’s presentation special, in addition to the fact that it will be his first appearance as WBA Champion and his reappearance in the United States, where he has not fought since 2017.

Inoue is 27 years old and is one of the most impressive talents in the sport. With 19 fights, he has already been champion in three different categories and is looking to maintain his supremacy.

In the case of Moloney, he has an interesting career and has already been WBA Oceania Champion. He was one of the first fighters to enter the ring after the pandemic break and he did it with a victory over Leonardo Baez last June 25th.

That rhythm, thanks to the fact that he fought four months ago, is an advantage for the Australian, who will have his first title shot at the age of 29.

This week, al the promotional activities prior to the fight will be carried out. On Friday, they will step on the scale to weigh the 118 pounds of the category and on Saturday they will fight for the championships.
