An explosive duel is expected to take place this weekend between two ladies who will be looking for a new opportunity to get into the list of world champions. The experienced Kali Reis will fight against Kandi Wyatt for the vacant World Boxing Association Super Lightweight crown. The fight will take place at the St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater, in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, this Friday, November 6th.
Kali Reis’ face has been widely remembered since she appeared on the prestigious HBO television network as the challenger of the then top welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus. Both starred the first women fight broadcast by HBO. Reis fell but she has been remembered by the great performance she had that night.
She was born and raised in Providence, Road Island, United States, being the youngest of five siblings, all of native blood: a descendant of the combination of the most transcendental indigenous tribes of southeastern North America, EstadCheroke, Nipmuc, and Seaconke Wampanoag, and therefore is nicknamed “KO Wampanoag”. She has starred in great fights within the 145, 150, and 160 pounds, as she has faced great boxers such as Tori Nelson, Hanna Gabriels, Cristina Hammer, Mikaela Lauren, and now she will fight in 140 pounds.
On the other hand, Canadian Kandy Wyatt arrives this weekend with a positive record that backs her up together with the experience of having faced the tough Athenian Christina Linardatou in March 2019. This is the only defeat that Wyatt has suffered and she is now in third place in the WBA female 140-pound ranking.
It will undoubtedly be a promising fight between two warriors who wish with their souls to win the vacant World Boxing Association crown.
