Conor Benn gave a demonstration of power and quality on Saturday at Wembley Arena and defeated Sebastian Formella by a wide unanimous decision to retain his World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Welterweight crown.

The public was wondering if the 24-year-old boxer was ready for the big battles. This weekend, Benn made that clear with a great victory of 100-90, 99-91, and 99-92 over a strong and experienced opponent like Formella, who left everything in the ring and proved to be a great prospect.

Benn came out with a frenetic pace from the first round. His high volume of punches, his precision and power were too much for Formella, who put his heart into it and fought back but was overtaken by Benn.

The left hook to the face, combined with the right straight, in addition to the hook to the liver, were the three main weapons of the champion, who gradually diminished Formella’s strength, who was brave but whose resources were not enough.

Nigel Benn’s son has made it clear that he is one of the best prospects in the division and that he is ready for great challenges. This victory puts him at the gates of better opportunities and has earned him the notoriety he desires.

The WBA regional champion’s record is now 17 wins, no losses, and 11 KOs, while the German’s record is 22 wins, 2 losses and, 10 KOs.
