Welterweight prospect Conor Benn was named Boxer of the Month by the World Boxing Association (WBA) following his victory over Sebastian Formella at Wembley Arena in London on November 21st.
The WBA published its November rankings, along with the awards for that period, in which Benn was the most outstanding.
The WBA Continental Champion at 147 pounds retained his crown in a brilliant performance against the German boxer, who is a strong, tough and demanding opponent. However, the Briton was able to impose his strength and good boxing to get a comfortable victory and show that he is one of the most important young fighters in the division.
Benn is 24 years old and is undefeated in 17 fights, 11 of them defined by KO. With his victory, he took another step towards the elite and made it clear that he wants to fight the big names in a category that is filled with talent.
