The World Boxing Association (WBA) will be announcing the presentation of the “Boxing Marathon” event at an online press conference on Thursday, December 10th, at 10:00 a.m. Colombia time via Zoom, whose link can be found at the bottom of this article.
The pioneer organization and its President, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, will reveal all the details of the event that will take place on December 17th, in Barranquilla, Colombia, as part of the WBA Challenge program that will have the WBA Light Flyweight World Champion Carlos Cañizalez from Venezuela vs. Jesús Silvestre from Mexico as the main fight.
In addition to the title fight, Venezuelan prospect Gabriel Maestre will be in action as well, fighting against Daniel Vega, also from Mexico.
The name “Boxing Marathon” refers to the high number of fights of the program (20 in total). The talent of great boxers from Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico will be shown with names such as Olympic medalist Yoel Finol, José Sanmartín, Ángel Rodríguez, Verónica Zuliaga, Rodrigo Caraballo, Franklin Manzanilla, among other great fighters of the continent.
The event will take place on the beautiful beaches of Barranquilla and will have all the relevant security protocols for such an important day.
The details regarding the accreditation and transmission will be announced at the press conference on Thursday morning, to which everyone is cordially invited.
