Hiroto Kyoguchi will have a great opportunity to start 2021. The World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight Super Champion will defend his title against Axel Vega in the undercard of the fight between Román González and Juan Francisco Estrada at the American Airlines Arena, in Dallas, on March 13th.
Kyoguchi enjoys great popularity in Japan and is one of the current great champions of the Land of the Rising Sun. He recently signed a promotional agreement with Matchroom Boxing that brings him to his debut in North America to make the third defense of his black and gold belt.
The 27-year-old fighter will be making his debut in the great market of the United States and he will do it against a strong, brave and young Mexican like Vega, current WBA Fedecentro Champion.
Vega is only 20 years old and will be the second Mexican to face Kyoguchi in his career. The native of Mexico City has won four of his last five fights and last fought in August 2020.
The Japanese is undefeated in 14 fights, with 9 KOs. Vega has a record of 14 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw, and 8 KOs.
