Eddy Reynoso’s relationship with Saúl Álvarez has always been like that of a father and son, and the trainer has shown his respect and affection for his protégé. Recently, he did so through social media by showing a tattoo of “Canelo” when there are less than two weeks left for the fight against Turkey’s Avni Yildirim, in Miami, Florida.
The piece shows “Canelo” with a fist up while containing the inscription “P4P” referring to the Mexican’s position as the current best pound-for-pound boxer.
“I was asked why I got this tattoo,” Reynoso wrote on his social media. “When you turn a 13-year-old kid into the best boxer in the world, you’re going to understand.”
Reynoso has been a key piece in the evolution to Álvarez and has guided him from his teenage years until now. They are preparing as a team to face a 2021 full of challenges in which they want to make three fights and reaffirm that the Guadalajara native is the best fighter today.
