Jessica McCaskill wants to confirm her status as Welterweight queen

Jessica McCaskill has had to deal with different opinions about herself since she defeated Cecilia Braekhus and snatched the World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Championship from her along with the IBF, WBC, and WBO belts last August.

Her opponent labeled the decision as dubious and has been looking for a rematch ever since. However, McCaskill knows the effort she had to put in to get the win last August and it is an accomplishment that no one can take away from her.

This second fight, which will take place on Saturday in Dallas, is a great opportunity for McCaskill, as she can show what she is made of and reaffirm that she is the queen at 147 pounds if she can beat “The First Lady of Boxing” a second time.

The American already made it clear in her previous fight by achieving an unprecedented feat and taking away Braekhus’ undefeated record in a tough fight. But it’s no secret that Cecilia wants to turn things around and she has the tools to do it, so McCaskill will have to double her efforts if she wants to succeed again.

The 36-year-old fighter is on a winning streak. She has won four fights in a row, in which she obtained Super Lightweight titles, went up a division and now owns all the Welterweight belts.

McCaskill and the fans know what she’s made of and an adverse decision this Saturday won’t change that. However, her goal is to get a win, which won’t be easy, but she is confident of her talent and determination.
