William Zepeda scored a very important victory for his career and won the WBA Continental Americas Lightweight title by defeating prospect Hector Tanajara after the sixth round on Friday night in Los Angeles.

“Camaron” Zepeda gave his all from the first round with a mind-blowing punching volume, which overwhelmed Tanajara for almost the entire fight.

The southpaw native of San Mateo Atenco made a great impression with his aggressive style and won a fight that was pretty even on paper. Zepeda proved that he is one of the top rising fighters at lightweight and his name became known in the U.S. market after this performance.

The Mexican improved his undefeated record to 23 wins, with 21 KOs, while Tanajara’s record is now has 19 wins, 1 loss, and 5 KOs.
