The World Boxing Association (WBA) congratulates legendary promoter Akihiko Honda, who celebrated his 74th birthday on Thursday, September 9.
Honda is one of the most influential figures in Japanese boxing and has helped several fighters achieve their goals thanks to his work at the helm of Teiken Promotions.
In 2009, Honda was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in recognition of his long career in the sport, which began in the 1960s.
He has worked with great fighters such as Genaro Hernandez, Jiro Watanabe, Jorge “Niño de Oro” Linares, Edwin Valero, Roman Gonzalez, among others. Today he is still the reference of Japanese boxing and a legend all over the world. Congratulations, my friend.
