The World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight champion, Filipino Victorio Saludar, arrived to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic this week, to face local Erick Rosa next Tuesday, December 21, in a great duel.

On Wednesday, took place the press conference prior to the fight, in which both of them talked to the press and gave their impressions about what they expect to happen in the ring.

Both said they feel good and motivated to win the fight for the pioneer’s belt, and promised a fight full of action and excitement in what is expected to be a great duel.

Saludar comes from defeating Robert Paradero in his most recent fight on February 20 to win the crown and now will seek to make the first defense.

Rosa became the mandatory challenger as he was the interim champion when the WBA began its plan to reduce the number of world titles. The 21-year-old will look to take the belt from the champion at home.

On Monday, both will step on the scales for the last step before next Tuesday’s bout in the Dominican capital.
