Russian Dmitry Bivol arrived this week in Uzbekistan to start his preparation for the next defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight super championship.
The 175-pound champion showed some images on his social media in which he is seen climbing the Uzbek mountains in the first part of his training camp.
The 31-year-old fighter was born in Kyrgyzstan but has Russian citizenship. Although his next opponent is yet to be determined, Bivol is already preparing to step into the ring for what would be his eighth defense of the championship crown.
In his most recent bout, he defeated Umar Salamov by unanimous decision after a dominant fight in which he won almost every round.
With that victory, Bivol maintained his undefeated record after 19 professional fights, in which he has won by knockout on 11 occasions.
