Ukrainian Oleh Dovhun retained his NABA super Bantamweight championship last weekend with a unanimous decision victory over Belgian Geram Eloyan at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, New York.

The European made the first defense of his regional crown of the World Boxing Association’s affiliated body after earning scorecards of 97-93, 96-94 and 96-94.

Dovhun especially took advantage of the early rounds to gain points on the scorecards and use his aggressive boxing to put pressure on the challenger. In the third round, head clash led to a cut on Dovhun’s left eyebrow, who had to move on amidst the bloody battle.

Eloyan was growing in the second half of the fight and a significant recovery was noticed in him that helped him win several rounds in the final part, however, it was not enough to get the victory.

Dovhun remains the WBA-NABA 122 lbs. champion and now has 14 wins, no losses and 5 knockouts, while Eloyan’s record dropped to 7 wins, 3 losses and 6 knockouts.
