Gabriel Rosado will face Shane Mosley Jr. on April 9 in defense of his WBA Continental Americas super middleweight championship.
The bout will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and will be part of the back-up bill in which Ryan Garcia will return to the ring to face Emmanuel Tagoe, while the flyweight champion of the pioneer organization, Japan’s Naoko Fujioka, will unify her belt against Marlén Esparza, owner of the WBC version.
Rosado won his belt in June last year with a spectacular knockout over Bektemir Melikuziev. In his next fight he moved down a weight class to face Jaime Munguia at middleweight and will now return to 168 pounds to defend his regional belt.
The 36-year-old veteran always puts on a show and his appearance at the event is a guarantee that there will be a great fight.
In front of him will be Shane Mosley Jr. who is coming off a close loss to Jason Quigley in May 2021 and will now look to defeat Rosado in a fight that will be tough and action-packed considering the style of both fighters. At 31 years old, the son of legend Shane Mosley, has proven to be a gritty fighter capable of making any opponent tough.
Rosado has 26 wins, 14 losses, 1 draw and 15 knockouts. Mosley, on the other hand, has 17 wins, 4 losses and 10 knockouts.
