World Boxing Association (WBA) continental welterweight champion Conor Benn of Great Britain and his challenger, South African Chris Van Heerden, both made weight for their bout this Saturday at the Arena in Manchester, England.

Benn, who will be making the seventh defense of his regional title, weighed in at 146.5 pounds, while Van Heerden stopped the scales at 145.8, both well within the weight limit for the belt contest and are ready to step into the ring this weekend.

For Benn, whose opposition has been growing, it will be a new test in his career. The 25-year-old fighter is shaping up to be one of the best in the category but he must prove it against good level fighters and this will be a chance to do it.

Van Heerden, on the other hand, arrives motivated to his first time in the United Kingdom and with the advantage of having faced renowned opponents. The South African wants to give the surprise and get great opportunities in the future.

Benn is undefeated in 20 fights with 13 knockouts and Van Heerden has 28 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 12 knockouts.
