The World Boxing Association (WBA) made public the rankings lists corresponding to the month of April with all the changes made in the span and with Errol Spence Jr. and Gennady Golovkin sharing the fighters of the month award.
The new ranking shows some important changes, and features GGG and Spence as new champions of the pioneer organization. Spence gave an exhibition of good boxing last April 16 in Arlington, Texas, and took the WBA welterweight belt from Yordenis Ugas with a technical knockout to add it to his collection, which already included the WBC and IBF versions.
For his part, Golovkin traveled to Japan last April 9 and knocked out the then WBA middleweight world champion Ryota Murata to prove that he is still a powerful fighter and give a great fight to the world public.
The WBA continues in the plan of reducing world titles and currently already has seven categories with only one champion, and has been making decisions that points in that direction and will continue to work on it.
