David Morrell retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight belt with a fourth round technical knockout over Kalvin Henderson on Saturday night in Minnesota.

The Cuban took another big step in his career by putting on a blistering performance and forcing referee Luis Pabon to stop the action after punishing his opponent for virtually the entirety of the fight.

The 24-year-old southpaw fighter is increasingly being taken into account and is already considered one of the most dangerous fighters in the 168-pound class. His power, combined with his good technique, make him a fearsome opponent and he is now expected to face a big name in the near future.

It was the seventh victory for the West Indian, who has 6 knockouts, while Henderson has a record of 15 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 11 knockouts.
