Hiroto Kyoguchi and Esteban Bermudez are set to define the only champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight division this Friday when they step into the ring at the Arena Coliseo, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The WBA mandatory fight will pit the Super Champion, Kyoguchi, against the champion’s title holder. The winner will be the only 108-pound king.
The fight obeys the WBA’s world title reduction plan, which has been progressing apace since it began in August 2021.
Kyoguchi arrived last week in Mexico and has been tuning up and finalizing details for the upcoming fight. Bermudez will have the advantage of being at home and will try to surprise as he did against Carlos Cañizales last year.
Different promotional activities will take place this week before the event, on Thursday will be the weigh-in and on Friday they will be ready to step into the ring.
