Former world champion, Venezuelan Carlos Cañizales, will return to the ring next August 20 to expose his Fedecaribe Minimosca belt against veteran Armando Torres.
The fight will be the main event of the evening to be held at the BB Auditorium in Mexico City, and will also feature the participation of the gold champion of the pioneer organization, Argentinean Jazmín Villarino.
“CCC”, as the South American is nicknamed, is on a road to recovery after losing his title last May against Esteban Bermudez. He returned to the ring in October to defeat young German Valenzuela and in March of this year defeated Ganigan Lopez with an excellent knockout.
Torres is a tester who is not on his best run but has faced top opponents recently such as Jonathan Gonzalez, Axel Aragon and Byron Rojas. The Mexican wants to take advantage of Mexico City’s altitude and damage Cañizales’ party.
The Venezuelan has a record of 24 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw, in addition to 18 knockouts. Torres has a record of 26 wins, 21 losses and 19 knockouts.
