German Huseyin Cinkara became the new World Boxing Association (WBA) International cruiserweight champion after defeating Al Sands by technical knockout in the third round at the Friedrich-Hebert-Halle, in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
The 37-year-old fighter imposed his strength against the American challenger and got an early victory to assert his home condition and take the black and gold title.
Cinkara is on a hot streak and earned his fifth knockout in a row. He is now targeting bigger opportunities inside the 200-pound division.
The new regional champion now has 19 wins, 16 of them by knockout and has not lost a fight in his professional career. Sands left his record at 22 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw and 19 knockouts.
