On November 6, Colombia’s Antonio Cervantes will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his victory over Alfonso Frazer with a boxing event at the Bernardo Caraballo Coliseum in Cartagena, Colombia.
“50 Years of Glory” will be an international event that will feature several interesting fights, two of them for World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin titles. The first will be the main event between Leonardo Carrilo and Edwin “La Roca” Barrios, who will fight for the regional belt in the 10-round super bantamweight category.
On the other hand, the veteran of a thousand battles, Olga Julio, will fight Venezuelan Yoselin Fernandez for the female Fedelatin belt.
Other good talents will be present in the event such as prospect John Lenon Gutierrez, who will have an interesting test against Mexican Rodrigo Felix in an 8 round super featherweight bout.
Undefeated Jose Munoz and Andres Perez will face each other for the Colombian national belt over 8 rounds in an undercard fight, while Orlando Peñalba will clash with Jonathan Cisneros in super flyweight.
Southpaw Veronica Zuluaga and lightweight fighter Diego Malambo are confirmed to participate in the show, although their respective opponents will be announced in the coming days. It will be a great event to commemorate a historic event like that of “Kid Pambelé” half a century ago, which moved an entire country and put Colombia on the map.
