The World Boxing Association (WBA) President, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, attended the presentation of the remodeling project of the Tierra de Campeones Training Center in the Cinta Costera of Panama City, an event that was also attended by Laurentino Cortizo, President of the Republic of Panama and the legendary Roberto Duran.

Panama is one of the countries that has given a lot to the WBA and has been the home of the organization for years. Supporting its boxing and all the infrastructure that allows its development is a priority for the organization, so it was a great pride for Mendoza to attend this important event.

Panamanian boxers and other personalities were also present at the press conference. The project means a big step for Isthmian boxing and will help to have better preparations, extensive camps and better results for all.

“Being here and seeing so many familiar faces, so many fighters and people who work for boxing makes me remember the reason why we are moving forward. The main objective is that they can have tools to be better. Thanks to President Cortizo for this support to boxing and from the WBA we will also continue giving that impulse for boxing to keep growing”, said Mendoza.

The pioneer organization is very happy with this initiative and is confident that with the support of all parties, Panamanian boxing will continue to grow.
