Erick “Pacman” Rosa, WBA minimum weight champion, assured that he is ready to travel to Thailand to face Thamanoon Niyomtrong, who is the super champion of the category.
The purse bid for the mandatory fight of the pioneer organization was held at last December during the convention, was won by the Thai’s team and now the date is expected, possibly at the beginning of March.
Rosa spoke with Primitivo Cadete, Dominican journalist, and said he is ready for this fight, which is part of the WBA World Title Reduction Plan and will leave only one champion at 105 pounds.
“I am a world champion and I am ready to face any opponent, no matter what country I have to travel to,” said the young Caribbean fighter in the note published by Hoy portal.
Both fighters are in the middle of their preparations and are waiting for the fight to be made official. Rosa will have a tough challenge against one of the most solid champions that the organization has had in recent years and the fight has generated many expectations.
Niyomtrong comes in with a record of 24 wins, no losses and 9 knockouts, while Rosa is undefeated in 5 fights, 1 won before the limit.
