Former World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is set to return to the ring on April 1 against American Jermaine Franklin at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London.
Joshua is coming off two consecutive losses to champion Oleksandr Usyk and wants to get back on the road to a world championship. The 33-year-old fighter has always shown the desire despite his recent defeats and has worked to correct mistakes for the future.
In September 2021 he lost his belts to the Ukrainian by unanimous decision in Tottenham, while in the rematch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, he lost by split decision.
Franklin is a dangerous opponent. He has experience, punching power and his only loss was to Dillyan White by majority decision last November. The American is 29 years old and knows how to adapt to all types of opponents, so it is expected to be a good fight.
Joshua has a record of 24 wins, 3 losses and 22 knockouts. Franklin has 21 wins, 1 loss and 14 knockouts.
