Reece Mould became the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental champion at lightweight by defeating Hamed Ghaz on Friday at the Magba Centre, Rotherham, England.
Mould got the judges score 96-94, 96-94 and 97-94 in a close fight in which he brought out the best of his boxing and was able to defeat a tough opponent, in addition to taking away his unbeaten record.
Experience was one of the points in Mould’s favor and that was noticeable in the ring to give him a hard-fought victory. The 28-year-old Briton took advantage of every mistake of his opponent to take advantage on the scorecards and win the regional belt of the pioneer organization.
His record now stands at 17 wins, 1 loss and 6 knockouts, while Ghaz lost his first professional bout and has 18 career wins.
