Maribel Ramirez roared back in New Zealand

With the experience of a champion and looking for a return to glory, the representative of Mexico City, Maribel “La Pantera” Ramirez defeated Michelle “Pressure” Preston on Saturday night at the Eventfinda Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, and won the World Boxing Association International belt.

Ramirez had made her last submission on June 24, 2022 against Argentina’s Clara Lescurat when she lost the WBA super flyweight world title in Argentina. The Aztec fighter had managed to consecrate herself as world champion at 115 pounds in a rematch with Linda Lecca in May 2018 reaching a total of 2 defenses before losing to Lescurat.

Recovered, Ramirez returned to training to give her career a rematch in this new year. On this occasion, her complete delivery in the ring, with aggressiveness and attacking precision, managed to overcome Preston who, although she tried to make her first successful defense of the international black and gold belt, was overcome by the brave and determined heart of “La Pantera” from Mexico.

In this way, Ramirez added his 14th victory with 3 knockouts, 10 defeats and 3 draws. While “Pressure” has won 11 fights, including 2 quick knockouts, 9 losses and 1 draw.
