Nathan Heaney got the rematch victory over Jack Flatley on Saturday at the Telford International Centre, Telford, United Kingdom, and was crowned as World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental middleweight champion.
The two had previously met in September last year and Heaney had won a technical decision in the fifth round after a cut caused by an accidental headbutt. Both signed to do the rematch immediately and now the WBA regional belt was at stake.
The scorecards were 99-91, 97-93 and 97-93, all in favor of Heaney, who wins the second fight in a row and now leaves no uncertainty about his superiority.
The undefeated fighter put on a good fight, with great technique and dominated from start to finish with a strong and determined opponent like the one in front of him.
The undefeated reached 17 victories, 6 of them by way of the knockout, while Flatley left balance of 20 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw.
