Katie Taylor will return home this Saturday to face Chantelle Cameron in front of her home crowd. A bout that will be a party and is full of peculiarities, especially the fact that the local will be the challenger against the undisputed English super lightweight champion.

Taylor was going to face Amanda Serrano in a rematch on the same date but the Puerto Rican suffered an injury and the fight was suspended. However, the lightweight champion sought another major challenge and moved up in class to take on the Englishwoman.

The Irishwoman had a great 2022 with a decision win over Serrano in April and then a sweeping victory over Karen Carabajal in October. Now she returns to the ring with the opportunity to become the undisputed two-division champion in a major career challenge.

Cameron will be making the first defense of her WBA crown, which she won in November over Jessica McCaskill. She will now have quite a challenge against the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport and hopes to keep her belts in her possession.

Taylor is undefeated in 22 fights, 6  knockout. Cameron, on the other hand, has 17 wins, no losses and 8 knockout.
