Swedish boxer Linn Sandstrom retained her World Boxing Association super flyweight intercontinental belt after a technical draw against Venezuelan Johana Zuniga on Saturday, May 27 at the Quality Hotel in Malmo, Sweden.
Both fighters showed their ambition to win from the opening bell by taking the fight to center of the ring. The height was in favor of the Swedish-born, Australia-based Sandstrom, while Zuniga, being shorter, was looking for the short distance to take advantage from the start.
Unfortunately, neither of the two had a chance to show their technical qualities, since by round two, the fight had to be stopped due to important cuts suffered by both of them after an accidental clash of heads.
Thus, a technical draw was declared and Sandstrom retained the belt she had won on October 29, 2022 in England against the Serbian Sara Marjanovic.
Linn Sandstrom was left with a record of 7 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws. While Johana Zuniga, with more experience in the ring, had 16 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw.
