Puncher Pat McCormack will face Tony Dixon on July 1 for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental super welterweight belt.
The fight will take place at the Sheffield Arena in England, and it will be an interesting battle between a fighter who is just starting out in professional boxing but who has shown his power, against a more experienced fighter who wants to surprise like Dixon.
McCormack has four professional fights, all of them victorious and three of them have ended by knockout. This time, the challenge will be going into his first 10-round bout and, of course, his first shot at a regional belt, which will be a big step in the 27-year-old fighter’s career.
Dixon, 30, has been a pro since 2012 and has been finding his opportunities in the division. His most recent fight was a unanimous decision win over Lesther Espino on February 18, 2022 and now he will return to the ring looking to continue his winning ways.
McCormack is undefeated in 4 fights, with 3 knockouts. Dixon has 14 wins, 4 losses, and 4 defined before the limit.
