The World Boxing Association’s KO Drugs International Boxing Festival returns to Argentina this June 9 and 10, and is once again welcomed by the Casino Buenos Aires, home of great boxing events in the southern capital.
A double date that promises excitement, with a world title fight between the Venezuelan Mayerlin Rivas, WBA super bantamweight champion, and the Argentine challenger Nazarena Romero; and the world eliminator in the light flyweight between the Cuban Daniel Matellón and the Venezuelan Carlos Cañizales, first and second in the WBA world ranking.
With this program, Argentina is ratified as a world boxing pole, thanks to the WBA international program; and the Casino Buenos Aires, is consolidating as an important venue for professional boxing, after hosting several events, with exciting life stories of its protagonists.
This will be the second consecutive time that KO Drugs will be held in this venue located in the emblematic area of Puerto Madero, in the Argentine capital.
In June 2022, and after almost 20 years of absence, the WBA’s star program returned to Argentina to see the triumph of Argentinean Clara Lescurat -who sealed that event with a brand new world title-; and the emerging home talents Mirco Cuello, Tobías Reyes, Leandro Blanc, as well as Venezuelan Albert Ramírez, among others. The fans also witnessed the return to the ring of American heavyweight Jarrell Miller.
The 2023 edition of the KO a las Drogas de Buenos Aires promises to write a new chapter in the history of the World Boxing Association.
